On September 6, 2007, arsonists destroyed the interior of this 32,000-square-foot, 32-lane bowling alley. TC3 received notice of the loss and was on site within 24 hours.
It was critical that the operation was up and running as soon as possible because the majority of Rapids Bowling Center income is generated during the September – May season. The alley was also a key part of the lives of its patrons, so construction had to start immediately.
With the authorization of the insured, TC3 initiated operations to clear the interior. Within 21 days, the interior was cleared of contents, the exterior of the building was temporarily boarded up and the dry out process was initiated.
Once the pre-construction scope of loss had been completed, reconstruction began with a scheduled completion date of March 31, 2008, which will allow the company to salvage 60 days of league play. The project completed April 10, and the first bowling tournament was held a few days later.
TC3 estimates savings of $347,000 in reconstruction costs and loss of business expenses.
